Undertale

Hey there! Welcome to my blog! So, this post is about Undertale. For those of you who have not heard of it, have you been living under a rock? No, but seriously, it is really difficult to get onto any kind of social media without seeing something about the video game called Undertale. So, first let me give you the facts.

Facts of Undertale

  • Created by indie game developer Toby Fox
  • Released on September 15, 2015
  • Single player role playing game
  • Became really popular through Let's Plays on YouTube
  • Sorta traditional but also not

Backstory

Ok, if you want to play Undertale, you need to know a few things. First, that you as the player is not the same person as the main character. The main character's name is Frisk. They are genderless and their name is not revealed unless you take a certain route in the game. You are like the "god" of the game seeing as you control everything in it. There is another main character that you may come across if you choose a certain route. Their name is Chara. They are also genderless. There is enough background for Chara for there to be an entire post, so we'll leave that for another one. Anyways, the history in the game begins as so: Humans and monsters lived together peacefully. Until one day there was a war. Seeing as the monsters were made of magic and were less physically strong compared to the humans, the monsters ended up surrending. Seven of the greatest magicians of the humans sealed all the monsters underground by a barrier. Although anything can get in, the only people who can get out are people who have a powerful enough SOUL. It is difficult to explain what a SOUL is unless you play the game beyond that everyone (human or monster) has one although according to the game, they could be made of different things. There is one way to get in through the barrier and that is via a hole inside a cave in Mt. Ebott. Frisk has fallen down into the hole some time later (not specified since the year is 20XX and we don't know when the war took place) and that's where the game begins!

My Opinion

Ok, I personally love how the game is set up and the differences it has to normal popular video games. It has an interesting backstory and there are three different routes you can take with those routes branching off into a few others. All of them leave you with really interesting endings and if you want to learn more about the different routes, go look them up! I would include them here, but that would spoil it for some people. It is very likely that I will make more posts about Undertale with that being one of the topics. So, just a heads up! Anyways, if you like interesting stories and being surprised, go check out Undertale! :)

Ok, thanks for reading and have an awesome day! BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
